In an advertising design class, I was given an option of three companies to make social media content for. I chose Universal Yums because of their fun branding which I thought would work well for social media

I needed to create a and advertising concept and a look and feel for the posts. I used a trivia-style premise about where each food is from and surprise viewers with the answer.

I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create the original designs and the mockups for three social media posts. One challenging aspect of these designs was ensuring the photo-realistic food would stand out against a bright-colored background.

I created designs targeted at Americans who often wonder about what another country’s food is like and how it compares to our western food. I mixed a cartoonish style with a photo-realistic style of the food because the branding at the time was cartoonish. I wanted to keep the photo-realism for the food so people could actually see food they’ve never seen or heard of before.
