My Favorite Advertising Campaigns

Poo Pourri

This is the first ad I remember I saw and was confused as to whether it was a real video or a joke or an ad. I was shown the full three minute long video and watched the whole thing. I thought it was funny and was surprised by this made-up British woman in a sundress sitting on the toilet.

Purina: Puppyhood

This is another ad that I saw and was shocked to see it was an ad. I liked it because I feel like it embodied the experience of getting a dog for the first time. It was a really compact story of all the highs and lows during those first adjustment months with a baby animal that likes to play and destroy things

Left & Right Twix

I love how they built out a story out of a non-difference in Twix packaging. The tone and situation just balance the edge of illogical perfectly because I feel like in the news and for kids learning history, there seem to be a lot of crazy coincidences which kind of mirror this story that advertising people have designed. In some ways, this campaign feels like the Mike and Ike campaign but this has a bit more of an older, more classic style to match the style of the brand.

Red Bull gives you wings

I like the young, flippant, classic almost frat boy style writing. It takes a simple scenario, like getting pooped on by a bird, then by drinking a red bull, these cartoon characters can suddenly do surprising things like fly. I also feel like the simply drawn and animated style is visually different from highly produced ads. It looks like something someone would draw on a bar napkin.
