Situation
This was an assignment to identify a learning gap and create a micro-course to fill that gap.

Task
Transgender healthcare is a topic that historically was not taught to medical healthcare providers and many early-career medical professionals felt unprepared to work with transgender patients.

Action
I designed a micro course that gave a beginner-friendly overview of concepts and terminology in transgender healthcare, a description of common transgender healthcare treatments and timelines, and a practical walkthrough for how to respectfully conduct a conversation with a transgender patient.

Result
The final course was a brief but impactful course for providers that hopefully increased knowledge about transgender healthcare topics and increased a provider’s confidence and comfort working with transgender patients.
