Situation

The Writing Center was building their social media presence and wanted someone with design experience to consistently post about their various events.

Task

My goal was to consistently post well-designed content that primarily informed students of event details and delighted them if the content crossed their feed.

Action

I created a content calendar which provided enough lead time to create the content, schedule the posts, and announce upcoming events in advance. When I was designing content, I used design principles and social media best-practices to create colorful, polished content.

Result

In my time as the social media coordinator, the Writing Center’s social media accounts gained more followers and expanded their reach in the student population For example, the number of followers on Instagram grew from ~350 followers to ~650 followers.
